Hard to overstress the importance of what you speak here, which I quote, if you wouldn't mind, in words I made myself: "I am glad that I don't know, coz then there is so much to learn"
It is, on the other hand, so easy to be driven away by "Oh, how better he can play than me!" and "I know nothing" that we miss out on the essential joys of learning.
The joy, I emphasise and strongly, is in the learning, not in having achieved any goal.
